Melanie Wheaton

graduated with honours from ICT Northumberland College in 2001, and has been a registered MTANS member in good standing for 10 years. With a keen interest in physiology and holistic care, she has continued her education in the areas of Advanced Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy and most recently Melanie was certified in CranioSacral Therapy (Level I: Upledger Institute). She plans to make this effective and gentle therapy a focal part of her education in the coming years.

Melanie believes strongly in treating each client as an individual, and understanding where they are on the road to their best health. Her intention is to customize every treatment, pairing comfort with a corrective approach while looking for the root cause of any problem. Whether a client is looking for quiet stress relief, specific recovery from injury or help with a chronic condition, Melanie is committed to providing the most effective, integrated care. Education and self-care is also key to client success, so she will offer guidance on stretching, body awareness and protocols for injury recovery and prevention.

Melanie is thrilled to be marking her 10th year of practice by establishing her own business. She has enjoyed many years in shared practice (formerly of Total Kneads Massage Therapy) and has worked with a clientele of all backgrounds and health goals. Melanie credits much of her passion to her clients; it is the client's experience that has shaped her understanding of balanced health and recovery. In 2009, these valued clients honoured her as a 'runner up' in the Coast's annual "Best Of" survey. She embraces the learning process and attributes her holistic approach to a number of inspiring courses: Self Care Yoga, Mental Health First Aid, "Coping with Grief", Reiki (I), Aromatherapy, and Systemic Deep Tissue Therapy.

She practices her own balance and self care with plenty of time in the great outdoors, time with her big red dog, yoga and travel.

She welcomes new clients, as well as those returning and is excited to offer a soothing environment with continued expertise and care.
